US serviced office giant, WeWork, has agreed to take 280,000 sq ft of the 300,000 sq ft site at Almacantar’s Two Southbank Place, making it one of the biggest offices they hold in London.

The development site will be shared with Shell Petroleum, which currently occupies the Shell Centre Tower and will also occupy One Southbank Place. WeWork will be able to occupy in the last quarter of 2018, and the new hub will offer technological and innovative solutions for companies, including 3D printing, laser cutters, and machinery needed for developing prototypes.

Eugene O’Sullivan, Managing Director at tenant acquisition specialists Morgan Pryce, believes that; “The new development at Southbank Place will serve to enhance the already booming market in SE1. Rents in the area have increased across Waterloo, London Bridge and Southwark, with new developments such as More London (by Tower Bridge), and the new London Bridge Station rejuvenating the area”.
