Lambeth’s regeneration scheme has introduced a major transformation of the Vauxhall, Nine Elms and Battersea area. Lambeth covers central and inner London, and certain areas are currently lacking in amenities which would otherwise make them extremely desirable. The current redevelopment plans have stimulated foreign investment, especially around the previously derelict area of Nine Elms. We have seen how the redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station has also brought national and foreign attention to the area.

Mayfair is the most prestigious area in Central London for major corporations and blue chip organisations that are looking for office space. The highest rental rates in Central London belong to Mayfair office space, particularly around Berkeley Square and Hanover Square. Offices in Mayfair vary from building to building in terms of style but are generally typical of London’s upmarket office space.

There is a buzz in the air as The Shard building completes; a new London landmark, tourist attraction and, in property terms, it will boost office availability in the Central London office market to almost double from 3.4% to 6.6%. Such an increase in commercial space, specifically offices in Central London, has been long-awaited and much-needed. 

Property in Mayfair could increase to £15,000 per square foot by 2050 according to a Hamptons International report, pushing Mayfair into the position of London’s prime elite location.
