Morgan Pryce, the tennant acquistion agency in Central London, is noticing signifiant difficulties with clients trying to get internet and phone services installed during the Olympics
“Its crazy that large areas of London are under a blanket ban whilst the economy is in such a fragile state and whilst clients are desperate to keep momentum with their office moves” says Tom Lax, Agent with Morgan Pryce. “I have a media client who has decided to postpone their entire move simply because they cannot get connectivity organised in a reasonable timeframe due to the Olympics. This puts pressure on both ourselves and the industries which are supported by office moves”.
Many areas of Central London have been put under a blanket ban on all roadworks, including the vital process of installing fibre optic cables that provide internet and phone connectivity, to the capitals businesses. Without this connectivity it is often impossible to relocate and this puts a serious pressure on companies during a period when London is supposed to be providing the nucleus of eceonomic recovery. The reality is that the roads are empty of traffic, as the Olympic rush has failed to materialise, whilst the ban remians in force.
